Self identify with a learning track and complete questionnaire. Must have an active Execs in Tech membership (Sign up)
2. Mentor Alignment
If you choose to BYOM (Bring Your Own Mentor) your mentor candidate will be reviewed and approved by the chapter VP of Education. If Execs in Tech is aligning your mentor we will share your application with our mentor volunteers.
3. Mentor Kickoff Meeting
You will schedule your initial mentor meeting to discuss personal goals and set milestones for the LeadIT program.
4. Begin Learning Track

LeadIT Learning Tracks
We have a place for you wherever you are in your career from entry-level to a seasoned executive, employed in happy, employed and seeking, or even if you are in transition between jobs. See below for our three learning tracks.
How LeadIT Learning Tracks Work
Each track has three milestones - Journeyman, Professional, and Mastery. Each milestone requires the completion of six(6) projects (three mandatory and three elective projects) plus one(1) recommended and one(1) elective reading. Each project is approved by your mentor and each milestone is approved by the chapter Vice President of Education. The Professional and Mastery milestones are approved by the Education board. A milestone is expected to take the average person between 3-6 months and a learning track between 12-18 months.
At the completion of each milestone you will receive the following:
1. A certificate of competency
2. an acknowledgement letter to employer (optional)
At the completion of each learning track:
1. Access to National Network of LeadIT graduates across the country.
2. Letters of Recommendation: Although it is not required, it is strongly encouraged that mentors and the education board provide personal letters of recommendation upon completion of our programs.

The LeadIT Emerging Leader (EL) learning track is a series of projects designed for a technology professional that is an individual contributor or new manager seeking to sharpen management and leadership skills. You will work on fundamental networking, communication, and leadership skills required to be an effective manager of a technical team.
Undergraduate Degree in CS or MIS or 5 years of experience in technology.
A good fit for
System Administrators, Help Desk, Database Administrators, Application developers, college graduates.
The LeadIT Advanced Leader (AL) learning track is a series of projects designed for a technology professional that is a manager or team lead seeking to sharpen organizational management skills to become a manager of a technology division or department. You will work on advanced communication, IT governance, and effective leader . Upon completion of this track you will have demonstrated competence in technology organizational management.
Completion of LeadIT ELM or 10 years' experience in Information Technology and 5 years of experience in management.

Team Leads, IT Managers, IT Directors, Division or Department Leaders
LeadIT Business Leader (BL) is focused on the business side of IT Leadership is designed for new or aspiring IT executives.
